As I write this, I am sitting at my daughter’s ballet class in the waiting room hoping to get some much needed work done for Heart Smart CPR. My life is busy and I am sure I am not the only one who tries to get two jobs done at one time. As an American Heart Association Instructor; I try to incorporate heart healthy meals and exercise into my hectic schedule; because I know the massive benefits I will reap. Yet, here I sit eating lunch made of fruit filled cookies and sugar filled tea. How can I possibly make my waiting room time be a combination of ballet, work and yes one more…heart healthy eating? Well, I have hope! The American Heart Association has made it easier with the start of the “Heart-Check Food Certification Program.” Go check out Heart Smart CPR blog to see some of the foods Subway and supermarkets have to offer at: http://www.heartsmartcpr.com/
On June 4, 2012 in Dallas Texas, the program blasted off and took flight at Subway. I am sure you have seen the logo for the program in supermarkets, now it will be showing up in restaurants where you are unable to easily look at the nutrition label. You can see it and get some more information at: www.heartcheckmark.org. I describe it as a heart with a check mark right in the middle; not real descriptive I know, but I try.
