Held every four years since 1960, the 2012 championship, taking place in Poland and Ukraine, includes the top 16 soccer teams in Europe that went through a two year qualifying process. Celtic Tavern will broadcast each game (from June 8 until the Final on July 1,) and feature food and drink specials associated with the country of each playing team.
When Germany plays, Celtic will feature Jagerschnitzel, Poland- Polish dogs, France- Coq au vin, and Ireland-, the Celtic’s beloved team, an all day Irish breakfast. Giveaways will be plenty, including Euro soccer scarves, championship league memorabilia, beer, and more.
Other specials during the month of June include: $3 Killians, $3.50 Harp and Heineken, and $3.50 Bushmills to celebrate the Irish National Team qualifying for the championship-
“We are delighted to feature the Euro 2012 for fans,” said Celtic Owner Noel Hickey. “Soccer is gaining tremendous popularity in the U.S., and we are looking forward to cheering on the teams- especially Ireland, of course.”
The games air at 10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. daily from June 8 through June 19, and all knockout games thereafter will air at 12:45 p.m. Celtic will open at 9:30 a.m. each day of the Championships. Games will also air at Delaneys next door for patrons that want to smoke cigars, and at the Celtic at riverside downs (2620 W Belleview, Littleton,) for all Littleton area customers.
A final Championship Party will take place on July 1, featuring Colorado Rapids players, exciting giveaways, featured specials for finalist teams, and more.
