CORDURA® Denim Fabric Provides Hard Working Comfort to Blåkläder’s X1500 Denim Workwear

The Blåkläder X1500 CORDURA® Denim fabric trouser has been developed for exceptional performance and toughness in extreme conditions to benefit tradespeople such as electricians, builders and brick-layers.

Predominantly worn today as a casual apparel fabric for jeans, cotton denim dates back more than a century when it was originally used as a workwear fabric. However, cotton fiber can be intrinsically weak so in the toughest of working conditions the fibre can succumb to severe durability limitations, thus potentially reducing its fitness for purpose. Through innovation in fabric design, the CORDURA® brand team helps return denim to its workwear roots with the benefit of four times more abrasion resistance over comparable weight 100 percent cotton denim,* a benefit ideally suited for today’s tough work environments.

Specifically developed as a more durable alternative to established 100 percent cotton denim fabrics, the CORDURA® Denim fabric featured in the X1500 Blåkläder Denim Trouser has a 3x1 twill construction and weighs 375 gsm. It is composed of 12 percent high tenacity INVISTA T420 nylon 6,6 fibre and 88 percent cotton.  

“The high cotton content helps provide an appealingly natural feel to the garment, while the balance of INVISTA T420 high tenacity nylon 6,6 fibre provides the added strength and durability that distinguishes CORDURA® brand fabrics,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “Based on this intimate blend of cotton and INVISTA’s T420 nylon 6,6 fibre, CORDURA® Denim fabric retains the authentic look and feel of cotton denim, but with added abrasion resistance, and toughness.”
