PRLog (Press Release) -
Jun. 5, 2012 - ABS-CBN Corporation executives headed by Mr. Mark Lopez, Chief Information Officer and Mr. Bong Osorio, Vice-President of ABS-CBN’s Corporate Communications Division welcomed the Japan-Philippines Parliamentarians Friendship League (JPPFL) represented by Congressmen Hirotaka Matsuoka and Koichi Mukoyama, as well as Mr. Yasushi Hiraiwa, representative of the subsidiary of the biggest network in Japan - Yoshimito Creative Agency Co. Ltd. recently to the ABS-CBN Corporation and The Filipino Channel (TFC) studios and facilities. The Japanese parliamentarians were here last May 5 as part of an exchange program where the parliamentarians visit the Philippines every two years while their Philippine counterparts visit Japan on the alternate year to reciprocate. Aside from the exchange visit, the congressmen and Mr. Hiraiwa were in the Philippines because of their interest in Praybeyt Benjamin, co-produced by Star Cinema Productions Inc. and which was screened at the Okinawa Film Festival last March. Other highlights of the visit included the gentlemen’s visit to the Goin’ Bulilit taping where the child stars thronged to the visitors as if they were celebrities themselves. Another highlight included the interview by DJ Arnold Rey of DWRR Tamabayan For Life on air and the live singing by Congressman Matsuoka of the 90’s Original Pilipino Music hit Otso Otso. Beyond the tour, Congressmen Matsuoka and Mukoyama and Mr. Hiraiwa shared their interest to do a co-production for a movie (which may feature Japanese and Filipino stars) during a meeting later in the day with Vice President and Business Unit Head for Skylight / Star Cinema Enrico Santos. Once a reality, the movie will be a fusion not only of two of Asia’s biggest networks but as well of of two rich cultures, in film.
