Mr. Felber’s experience includes a wide range of technologies and industries, including computer hardware and software systems, communication systems, mobile applications, social networking, financial and trading applications, printing and output systems, and business methods. He has serviced a broad range of domestic and international clients including large, mid-sized, small and startup companies.
Before practicing law, Mr. Felber enjoyed successful and prominent employment in industry, including as a programmer analyst at the Library Systems Office at Yale University. Prior to his tenure at Yale, he was a software engineer and programmer, and developed mission critical applications for the Emergency Department at Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Department of Virology at the West Haven Connecticut Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Department of Care Management at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, and the New Haven Sponsor Hospital Program (a joint program of Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of Saint Raphael). Mr. Felber was also an officer at Geminga Medical, Inc., a medical software company in which he developed and sold a software application that calculated impairment of the upper extremity of the human body.
In adding Mr. Felber, Leason Ellis, already the largest IP law firm in Westchester county, continues its rise as a leading national IP firm. “Joel has a fantastic and unique background in computer sciences, which should significantly enhance our ability to respond to the issues presented to our clients in various sectors” says David Leason, Managing Partner of the Firm. “He also has a warm and engaging personality, as well as the ability to speak the language of engineers and programmers, which I am sure our clients will enjoy,” Leason adds.
“I am looking forward to joining such a dynamic firm with like-minded people,” says Felber. He adds, “as a resident of Connecticut, I am also particularly looking forward to working in my own backyard.”
