TFC shares the drama of "Maalaala Mo Kaya" to more viewers worldwide

Translated version of award-winning drama launched this June

 
PRLog - Jun. 4, 2012 - As the largest and leading Filipino network in the world, The Filipino Channel (TFC) continues to set the pace for innovations in content to make its shows more tailor-fit for its viewing audience. Just over the weekend (June 2 Saudi, Milan, Japan, Australia Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila Time and June 3 Pacific Time), TFC unveiled its newest offering of program episodes sub-titled in English for the understanding and utmost entertainment of its non-Filipino and to a certain extent, second generation viewers.


To share the pillar in drama that is “Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK)” to subscribers’ family members who do not speak Filipino as a primary language, TFC translated its content, starting with the best episodes of the longest-running Filipino drama program “MMK.” Available in the U.S., Canada, Middle East, Europe, Australia Japan and some parts of Asia, “MMK” now showcases English captions of its prime episodes ranging from award-winners; faithful biographies; exciting episodes on the youth as well as episodes set against the beautiful landscapes all over the world where there is TFC.


Hosted no less by ABS-CBN Corporation President and Chief Content Officer Charo Santos-Concio, the drama program is one of the Philippines’ longest-running drama programs which dramatizes the real-life stories of Filipinos not just in the Philippines but all over the world.


For the first episode, TFC unveiled the award-winning episode of “Rehas.” The episode earned lead actress Gina Pareño the “Best Drama Performance By An Actress” from the 12th Asian TV Awards in 2007 for her heartfelt performance as a mother who had to live with several cases of mental sickness in her family.


The translated classic “MMK” episodes are proof that TFC continues to showcase not just the best Filipino content but most importantly, programs that are customized according to the needs of its viewers and provide reasons for Filipinos and their families to enjoy moments, including for entertainment, together.


MMK’s other sub-titled episodes will be aired via TFC’s cable and satellite service during the following times* :
TFC cable service in the U.S (plus satellite) & Canada – Sunday, 3:20 p.m. Pacific Time
TFC in the Middle East – Satuday, 12:20 pm, Saudi Time
TFC satellite service in Europe – Saturday, 11 a.m. Milan Time
TFC cable service in Hong Kong and Singapore (and Manila Time) – Saturday, 6:30 p.m.
TFC in Australia (satellite) - Saturday 8:30m.
TFC in Japan – Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
