Celebrate Northeast Parade hits Minneapolis June 19
MINNEAPOLIS, JUNE 4, 2012—The Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce and Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce are welcoming the Celebrate Northeast Parade on Tuesday, June 19.
The parade is a celebration of the Northeast Minneapolis community, and will follow Central Avenue from 27th Ave. to 14th Ave. More than 100 groups from the Northeast community including schools, politicians, businesses and nonprofit groups will make up the parade.
“The Celebrate Northeast Parade is an amazing representation of the community,” said Christine Levens, executive director of the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a celebration of all the things that make Northeast Minneapolis the great place it is.”
The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and spectators will see floats, marching bands, community royalty, unicyclists, clowns bagpipers and more. Food will also be available through local vendors and neighborhood favorites such as Stanley’s on Wheels and Big Bell Ice Cream. The Edison High School marching band will serve as grand marshal of the event.
