June 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Luis Martinez Jr., driver of the #30 King Taco/Position One Motorsports Chevrolet, scored the victory Saturday night at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Super Late Model portion of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series Star Nursery "200" program at the 3/8-mile banked oval.

Martinez drove a chassis named Mcfly that has been driven with great success over the last few years by David Mayhew, Makena Bell, (K & N east driver) Sergio Pena, and the Metal Mulisha originator Brian Deegan. And Saturday night Martinez and the chassis performed flawlessly.

Martinez set fast time for the Super Late Model field then drew a #4 for his starting position in the 40-lap feature race. Martinez let the race play out and just held is position until race leader Scott Gafforini tried to split the two lapped cars and instead of clearing them the trio tangled bringing out the final caution.

Cole Custer led the field on the restart, with Martinez in close pursuit. Martinez drove inside of Custer on lap 30 and the pair raced side-by-side for two laps until Martinez gained a clear advantage.

Martinez held the point and cruised to victory. "It was a really clean race for the most part," Martinez said. "The team did an awesome job setting up McFly and it was really fast when we needed it. It is great when you can go door-to-door with another competitor and never touch."

The Position One Motorsports team is running a variety of races this season in both Super Late Model and Late Model action around the region and enjoys racing at The Bullring. While crew chief Steve Boldroff is recuperating from surgery on his achilles tendon, the rest of the team stepped up and did not lose a beat.

Jason Allen of Las Vegas performed perhaps the most critical job during the race spotting for the 22-year old driver. The role of spotter is unique and essential in the success of any driver and team. Most think the job is easy, but ask any spotter and driver and they will tell you a whole different story. Allen competed in the old Southwest Tour and has spotted for Kurt Busch in the Cup series on occasion.

The McFly Super Late Model is available for rent the rest of the season as the team will concentrate on Late Model racing over the summer months. Contact Rip Michels at the Position One Motorsports shop for complete details. The next event for the team will be June 30 at Stockton (CA) 99 Speedway.

Position One Motorsports goals for 2012 will be to further develop their winning tradition and become the premier West Coast team for developing championship caliber drivers. The team currently has a fleet of three ultra-competitive Late Model cars and two equally competitive Super Late Model entries ready for competition.  A brand new Late Model is the newest addition to the rental program, along with a previous Toyota All-star Showdown winning Super Late Model entry. The team will compete at various west coast tracks in 2012 and their current schedule includes visits to The Bullring in Las Vegas, All American Speedway, Madera Speedway, Stockton 99 and Lake Havasu.

Position One Motorsports has corporate partnerships with King Taco, Lucas Oil, Eibach Springs, Ron's Rear Ends, and Jan's Towing.
