The New iPhone 5 Set For Increased Screen Size

Reported images of the new iPhone 5 were posted on the 9to5mac website along with a little more detail on certain aspects of this forthcoming new model.  Most of the report related to the screen that will feature on this new phone.  It is suggested that Apple have opted for a 4 inch display on the model which will enable consumers to enjoy improved functionality in a number of areas including mobile gaming and web browsing.  This 4 inch screen is still somewhat smaller than many new models but part of the iPhones attraction is that it is one of the most compact phones available.  By making the screen any larger than this Apple would put themselves in line with numerous other manufacturers rather than standing out form the crowd.  The iPhone range has always been hugely popular and therefore a slightly larger screen is likely to be welcomed by consumers but a big jump in screen size may not please the loyal customers who often purchase every new model that is released.  This new size screen is rumoured to boast an 1136 x 640 resolution which means the pixel density will rival the last two versions of the phone and exceed what many companies currently offer.

Many rumours suggest that this exciting to model may be unveiled at the Apple WDC event which is being held on the 11th of June.  Traditionally this event relates to the development of applications and software but the new iOS operating system that will be used by the iPhone 5 is set to be launched so it makes sense for Apple to also give the first official information about the new model.  Even if this rumour proves true we may have to wait until later in the summer before the model hits the shelves with September being the month that Apple normally choose to release new iPhones.  In relation to the design of the new phone users will once again be treated to black and white versions of the handset while the new larger screen dominates a much larger proportion of the fascia than on previous models.
