Follow on Google News | Workman's "Howl" leads print again. Holiday's humor leads eBooks - Sunbury Press May bestsellersSunbury Press has released the bestseller list for the month of May, 2012. Novelist Morris Workman's "Howl of a Thousand Winds" was first in print. Jackson Holiday's humorous "Who Sh*t in my Zen Garden?" claimed the lead of all eBook formats.
By: Tammi Knorr Farrell & Farley's "Keystone Tombstones Volume I" continued to sell well thanks to author appearances on TV and radio. Willow Rockwell's "My Wheels Gave Me Wings" sold well thanks to a magazine article in Bicycling Magazine. Christopher Zoukis's reference "Education Behind Bars" continued to sell well thanks to promotional activities. William Lemaski's Kermit Roosevelt biography, "Lost in the Shadow of Fame" and Steve Troutman's "Tulpehocken Trail Traces" made the list thanks to author events. Karim El Koussa's "The Phoenician Code" and "Pythagoras" The top eBooks were all boosted by free Kindle download promotions. Making the list were "MONAD 12.21.12," "The Paladin," "Twilight of the Drifter," "The Fourth Nail," "City Havoc," "The Last Egyptian Mamluk," and "The Cairo Incident." Sales for the month of May were down over 25% compared to same month sales in 2011, although May was the strongest sales month in 2012. Sales declined in all categories. Year-to-date, sales are down 15% overall as compared to last year, including a 22% decline in print-on-demand sales and 41% decline in inventoried book sales. EBook sales have more than tripled, year-to-date, as compared to last year, though the increase is not enough to offset declines in print. The company remains profitable despite the revenue declines.
