PRLog - Jun. 1, 2012 - CHICAGO -- Electric violinist Adia has released her debut EP “Live From The Alley” as a free video stream on her website adiasound.com. The music on the EP, which can only be described as a mix of alternative and indie rock infused with blues and soul undertones, showcases Adia’s unique and powerful sound.
Adia, a Chicago-based neo-soul rock violinist, singer, and songwriter, teamed up with some of the most well known musicians in the Chicago scene to form the live band Adia & The 7 Eyes. The band is made up of Matt Nelson on keys, Geoff Lowe on bass, Pat Fleming and Chris Siebold on guitars, and Jonathan Marks on drums. Together they recorded Live From The Alley, a visceral performance shot live at The Alley Recording Studio in Valparaiso, Indiana on February 27.
Live From The Alley quickly sets the pace with a memorable rendition of Jimi Hendrix’s “Stone Free”, with Adia masterfully doing all of Hendrix’s solos on her electric violin.
It follows with three musically diverse original songs: the dark, hard-driving “Demons”, the riff-heavy Americana-style “Hustler”, and the beautifully serene “Ferris Wheel”. “I don’t limit my music to one particular type”, Adia explains.
The performance is highlighted by Adia’s incredible versatility with the electric violin and her wide vocal range. The EP was mixed and mastered by legendary Grammy-nominated engineer/producer Chris Steinmetz at the iconic Stonecutter Studios. Live From The Alley is “a dark, soulful, passionate explosion of searing vocals and haunting violin solos”, says Steinmetz.
Adia & The 7 Eyes are currently preparing for the live circuit. Concert dates and updates will be posted on her website http://www.adiasound.com, and also through her Facebook, Twitter, ReverbNation, and YouTube channels (user: Adiasound).
