Rob Eggers Memorial Scholarship Now Accepting Applications

June 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Students interested in green building careers have another opportunity for financial assistance thanks to the US Green Building Council Charlotte Region Chapter. Members of the chapter’s Emerging Professionals group can apply for the Rob Eggers Memorial Scholarship, which provides assistance to students at an accredited college, university, or technical school with an emphasis on environmental or sustainable applications and studies.

The Emerging Professionals group consists of professionals based in the Charlotte area who are intent on becoming and recruiting future green building leaders. While USGBC Emerging Professionals targets those 30 years of age and younger, the program is open to any person who is new to the green building movement. This includes career-changers and those individuals entering the field of sustainability regardless of age or circumstance.
Last year’s recipient, Camilla Mallberg, is a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte and an Environmental Studies Major. She worked for two summers at the Sweden Green Building Council. Her senior thesis was on the impacts of golf course runoff on an adjacent stream in South Charlotte.
