Follow on Google News | Travelogy acquires Nearby.sgTravelogy.com has announced today the full acquisition of nearby.sg, a location-based mapping and points-of-interest directory in Singapore.

Streetdirectory was acquired in August 2008 by JobsDB.com for an undisclosed sum. In July 2010, Global Yellow Pages invested a sum of $3.5 million for a 53.13% stake in ShowNearby, another similar competitor in the mobile app space. “The strategic acquisition of nearby.sg extends our multi-channel media platforms from web, print, and social media to the fast growing mobile and tablet space,” said Ms Winnie Tan, founder of Travelogy. “We will be integrating Travelogy’s context-sensitive ad-serving engine with nearby.sg’s location-based maps and technology to allow advertisers in the travel industry to effectively reach out to their target audience.” she added.
