New app called “People Around Me” breaks down social barriers permitting users to check out other people around them.
A new app released to the Australian App Store today by two Sydney University Students, permits its users to view the Facebook information of other iPhone-owning strangers around them. The app, “People Around Me”, uses location-based technology, providing real-time access to the current locations of other users close by in order to access their Facebook photos and profile information.
The Australian inventors intend to eliminate the social barriers preventing people getting in touch with other people around them in any one moment. Co-inventor, Reid, said “we want to bring the community-feeling of a University to the outside world – one where everyone knows everyone.”
People Around Me was released on the iPhone Application store earlier this week.
