By: SlabTite Structural Systems SlabTiteTM Anchor Stitches are precision engineered to restore the tensile strength across the crack, reestablish compression, and stabilize the structure. The stitches are fabricated with a machined face and slot and installed in a niche below the concrete surface. The system works by tightening down the anchor wedge to post-tension the stitch, inhibiting the crack from expanding and getting larger. The system is engineered to transfer load away from the fracture, thus creating a long-lasting fix. In the past, contractors often glued metal āUā clips or pins around cracks that have formed in concrete slabs. Often times this process was not successful and fractures reappeared. For many of these older structures we have found that a combination of adding reinforcement, post tensioning, anchor stitching, and epoxy injection helps restore the tensile strength across the crack. For concrete pool and deck repairs, the SlabTiteTM process combines a variety of these methods and is considered by industry professionals as the most effective methods to stabilize these types of fractures.
