Katrina: The Beginning features a strong female protagonist, historical significance and an entire host of paranormal villains.
Elizabeth, who first wrote the original installment of The Royal Blood Chronicles in 2009, says,“After loving every kind of vampire book, movie and series, I decided that I wanted to know more. I can write a book, I thought. How hard can that be? Well…I stuck to it and finished my first book, The Royal Blood Chronicles Book One in August 2009.”
An avid fan of all things vampire, she combined her knowledge of the genre and her own original idea to create a brand new vampire series that readers have come to enjoy.
The main character of Elizabeth’s books, Katrina, is a strong-willed vampire that is part of the royal bloodline. Good old fashioned gossip, scandal and mystery ensue, but it is all set during the late 19th century, adding an aura of unique historical interest to a paranormal adventure. When the vampire race is threatened, it is Katrina, among others, who must stand up and defend her kind.
Elizabeth’s novels are hit with her readers. “I am a fan of YA novels. I’m also a fan of vampire novels. Between my two loves, I thought I had experienced the majority of what the genre could provide me until I discovered independent author, Elizabeth Loraine,” one reviewer says.
“I started writing this new vampire series for teens and their moms,” Elizabeth said, “because I myself wanted something different to read. I was tired of all the modern versions of vampire books, there had to be more to these long-lived beings. Where had they been, what had they seen? I wanted – no, I needed, to know more, so Royal Blood Chronicles was born!”
Katrina: The Beginning
A Blood Chronicles Novel
by Elizabeth Loraine
As a vampire, Katrina was used to being hunted. After all, that’s just the way things had always been. But when Katrina finds out that she has to save the very people who are trying to their best to destroy her, things don’t go over too well. Written in first person, Katrina chronicles her life throughout the 19th century. Submerged in the word of aristocracy and petty girlish gossip, things take a turn for adventure when she and five others are chosen to be the protectors of their race and all of the peaceful races of the world. Full of adventure, strong heroes and heroines and plenty of vampire folklore, Katrina: The Beginning is the perfect novel for all who enjoy the paranormal genre.
