Rainforest Expeditions Offers Family Rates / Tour Specials For Authentic Jungle Wildlife Experiences

From November through March its 7-day/6-night Parrot Lovers Program is also at a special 10 percent off rate. The rainforest of Tambopata has gained a reputation of being a hotspot for parrot and macaw lovers due to its healthy populations.  A huge clay lick lies less than a kilometer from Tambopata Research Center. Each lodge offers monthly promotions that guests can take advantage of while visiting. Posada Amazonas offers specials on jungle mountain biking, massages, kayak day trips and a second child in a family.  Refugio Amazonas offers specials on Bamboo Therapy Massage, yoga, canopy climbing and soft adventure outings. Tambopata Research Center has specials on Rainforest and Intense Jungle massages, nature and parrot lover’s programs and butterfly adventures. In each of the three distinct locations, guests are accommodated in clean and comfortable, minimally appointed, three-sided rooms built of clay, wood and palm fronds.  The signature statement is to leave one wall open to the jungle so guests can hear, see and smell the rainforest.

The string of three jungle lodges is accessed from Puerto Maldonado airport arriving from Lima or Cusco on daily commercial flights lasting 45 or 90 minutes respectively. A bus transports guests to the Infierno River Port to board motorized wooden canoes for a 45-minute trip to the first lodge, Posada Amazonas. Refugio Amazonas, the second lodge, is a 3.5-hour boat trip after departing the bus.
