Brooklyn’s Shekinah Monee Wins the Coveted Title of New York’s Perfect Women

May 31, 2012 - PRLog -- New York, NY—There she is…New York’s Perfect Woman! That was the title bestowed on Brooklyn’s own Shekinah Monee at the recent New York New Jersey Perfect Pageant held on Sunday, May 20th at the famed Pennsylvania Hotel in Manhattan.

A native New Yorker, Shekinah took the next step on the road to the national title after winning the local New York City’s Perfect Miss crown last year. More than just a pretty face, the beauty queen holds both an undergraduate dual degree in Political Science and Psychology as well as a MBA. Ms. Monee works closely with the fashion, beauty and entertainment worlds as a publicist with the Siena Media Group and a professional model. With pageants near and dear to her heart, Shekinah also works closely with the Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Organization, one of the preliminaries for the Miss American system, as both the Assistant Director and Media Coordinator.

With a belief in giving back to the next generation, Shekinah Monee is an active member in the Brooklyn community. She routinely tutors young girls and teens in math and reading as well as mentors them basic business and social skills. It’s no surprise that her platform focuses on preparing today’s youth for the future as she promotes No Child Left Behind: Building in Literacy and Music.

Competing against a formidable field, Ms. Monee sashayed and confidently interviewed her way to the crown which was passed on from outgoing queen, Tanya Eldemire. Shekinah will go on to represent New York at the national pageant this August in Orlando.

“I am humbled to receive such a prestigious title and Tanya left me with big shoes to fill,” Shekinah said.”I plan on using this year to promote my title and build awareness of the importance of literacy and music.”

Also crowned at the state pageant were Jamie Otis (New York’s Perfect Miss), Marisa Matzen (New York’s Perfect Teen) as well as titleholders for Perfect Junior Teen, Pre Teen and Little Miss Perfect for both New York and New Jersey (including Woman, Miss and Teen).
