Oberon, Inc. Announces New Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) Listing Status for Products

PRLog (Press Release) - May 30, 2012 - Oberon announced today that Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) has listed most of Oberon’s products under UL60950-1 NWIN "Information Technology and Communications Equipment Cabinet, Enclosure, and Rack Systems."  Most of Oberon’s products have been previously listed under UL 50, "Enclosures for Electrical Equipment."  The new NWIN listing includes an evaluation for suitability for use in suspended ceiling, and UL has indicated that the listed products are Suitable for use in Other Environmental Air Space in accordance with Section 300-22(C) of the National Electrical Code, and Sections 2-128, 12-010(3), and 12-100 of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, CSA C22.1.”

According to Scott Thompson, President of Oberon, Inc., the new UL listing and label will confirm the suitability of Oberon’s products for installation in plenum spaces. Thompson stated, "Oberon’s ceiling products have always been designed to satisfy National Electric Code requirements for installation in the plenum space, and the new UL listing is affirmation of this fact."
