Eat & Be Well seeks to provide more than just a delicious and nutritious Thanksgiving meal.

Firm Media, Inc. and SMG are proud to announce Eat & Be Well, an event that seeks to provide nourishment and other services to people in need this upcoming Thanksgiving.

May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- The event will take place on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Ontario Convention Center 2000 East Convention Center Way in Ontario, California and will provide services to an estimated two thousand people in need.

The steering committee consists of a group of like-minded individuals from inland Sothern California’s business and non-profit communities and seeks to stress the importance of collaboration between business, charity, and local government. They hope to set an example – to prove that there is strength in numbers when it comes to meeting the needs of the underserved in their community.

“I’m excited about the potential to create an opportunity for a large number of volunteers in the community to come together,” says Firm Media CEO Christopher Suchanek. “This event will provide much needed support to those members of our community in need this Thanksgiving and will be a great opportunity for local businesses to make contributions to the Greater Good.”

Eat & Be Well seeks to provide more than just a delicious and nutritious Thanksgiving meal. In addition to traditional Thanksgiving fare, participants will have access to free health and wellness resources. The steering committee is currently in the process of aligning with a variety of organizations and vendors in order to provide a diverse array of services to those in need.

“As a leader in the hospitality and tourism industry supporting Ontario, San Bernardino, and Riverside, I have a very strong commitment to community and the programs and services that best serve it,” says Bob Brown, representative of SMG and President and CEO of the Ontario Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. “Giving back to community is paramount in the role of the SMG and the hospitality industry. We formed Eat & Be Well and opened up the convention center to provide a safe and friendly environment for those that are underserved in our community to celebrate Thanksgiving. This is good for everyone involved and brings together people, services, and great food!”

Anticipating a great success, this diverse group of for profit, non-profit, and local government organizations hope to increase their impact every year for many years to come. The group strives to eventually provide health and wellness services to as four thousand people in need on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“We have high hopes for this year’s Eat & Be Well and we have even bigger aspirations for the future,” says Suchanek. “We’re so fortunate to be partnering with such a great mixture of business, non-profit, and government to set an example of what can be done with some simple collaboration.  We’re excited to show how many socially conscious organizations and volunteers there are in Inland Southern California.
