The Pearson Financial Planning Library houses an extensive collection of online journals, ebooks, newspapers, magazines, databases and software, as well as public domain materials on subjects ranging from financial planning, insurance, taxation, to personal finance, estate planning, retirement planning, employee benefits, investments, and retirement planning.
Students working towards an MBA in Financial Planning will find that the Pearson Financial Planning Library has a very focused and relevant selection of resource materials in its holdings. The CIF management believes that this will make it easier for the students to better assimilate what they learn in the classroom as they go through one of the most difficult and relevant courses the university offers.
The California Institute of Finance offers an MBA degree in Financial Planning which can be taken on-campus, online, or in a combination of both. Under the guidance of its Director Dr. Somnath Basu, and Associate Director Professor Harry Starn, the school has focused on educating students on financial planning theory as opposed to knowledge gained from practice alone. Students take 16 courses for about 6 weeks each, spread over a period of 18 to 24 months, after which they take the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) examination.
California Lutheran University's focus on quality education has enabled it to consistently rank as one of U.S. News' Top 20 Best Regional Colleges in the West for the last 17 years. The California Institute of Finance sees these Kindles as a valuable learning tool, and in keeping with its continued quest for high quality education makes the technology available to its students. The CIF management candidly foresees a rise in the number of students reading books on the Kindles, which hopefully will result in better all-around knowledge, better class performance, and higher grades.
