CLU Makes Studying for a Financial Planning Degree Easier With Kindles

May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Thousand Oaks, CA, May 31, 2012 -- The Pearson Library of the California Lutheran University recently announced that it is making available Kindle units for students to check out. Students have to be a current CLU student to be eligible to check out the Kindles, and must present their school ID card to the library's Circulation Desk. Kindles are also available at the Pearson Financial Planning Library of the California Institute of Finance, where students can use the gadget to accomplish their reading assignments, research, homework, and do advanced research and reading for their Financial Planning coursework.

The Pearson Financial Planning Library houses an extensive collection of online journals, ebooks, newspapers, magazines, databases and software, as well as public domain materials on subjects ranging from financial planning, insurance, taxation, to personal finance, estate planning, retirement planning, employee benefits, investments, and retirement planning.

Students working towards an MBA in Financial Planning will find that the Pearson Financial Planning Library has a very focused and relevant selection of resource materials in its holdings. The CIF management believes that this will make it easier for the students to better assimilate what they learn in the classroom as they go through one of the most difficult and relevant courses the university offers.

The California Institute of Finance offers an MBA degree in Financial Planning which can be taken on-campus, online, or in a combination of both. Under the guidance of its Director Dr. Somnath Basu, and Associate Director Professor Harry Starn, the school has focused on educating students on financial planning theory as opposed to knowledge gained from practice alone. Students take 16 courses for about 6 weeks each, spread over a period of 18 to 24 months, after which they take the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) examination.
