Riding for the Cause with Tom Napiontek

May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Vancouver, BC, May 24, 2012 -- On Sunday, June 3, 2012, Tom Napiontek will join thousands of other Canadians for the bike ride of a lifetime. As part of the 25th Anniversary Becel Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Corporate Bike Ride, 13,000 participants will ride to raise funds in support of the research and programs provided by the Foundation. Tom and fellow colleagues will be on hand as volunteers, filling a number of roles to help ensure the ride goes smoothly.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is working to help Canadians live longer, healthier lives by focusing their efforts, including research and dedicated programs, on the prevention and eventual elimination of heart disease and stroke. The volunteer-driven organization is accomplishing its goals by advancing research and its application and promoting healthier lifestyles.

According to Napiontek, “The Heart & Stroke Foundation has a lot to do with the drastic decrease in the number of Canadians that die from cardiovascular-related factors each year. It’s an honor to be able to help with such a worthy cause.”

The ride will take place on June 3, 2012 from approximately 8am to 12 noon. Riders will start on Melville Street just one block north of Georgia. Riders will get to experience the thrill of riding on the Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway with absolutely no other traffic.

“It’s an exhilarating experience,” says Napiontek, who has been a part of the ride in previous years. “It’s not only a great workout for those who get to ride and a wonderful networking opportunity for all involved, but it also allows us to raise money for an extremely worthy cause.”
