Masked Mosaic: Canadian Super Stories Anthology Seeks Submissions

New anthology will feature Canadian “superfiction”. Open to Canadian authors, the submission period is June 1, 2012 through August 1, 2012.

May 29, 2012 - PRLog -- (Calgary, AB) – Claude Lalumière and Camille Alexa will edit Masked Mosaic: Canadian Super Stories for Tyche Books, Ltd. The anthology, which will collect stories from the superhero genre, will be an all-Canadian affair, from the cover art to the editors and contributing authors. Submissions open on June 1, 2012 and close on August 1, 2012.

Masked Mosaic will be published in spring 2013 in part to honour and celebrate the 75th anniversary of Superman. Joseph “Joe” Shuster, a Canadian, was co-creator and the original artist of the iconic comic book character. Selected stories will feature “new, original characters, (that) bring to life some aspect of the Canadian mosaic,” says Claude Lalumière, co-editor of the anthology.

In addition to the Canadian creative team, a Canadian element within the story is essential. Setting, character, culture, politics, history—if it's Canadian, the editors want to see it. And while superheros are the obvious choice for main characters, stories about villains, scientists, vigilantes, and mutants are welcome.
