Lake District visitor attraction Ullswater Steamers triumphed at this year’s VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, scooping a Silver award for Outstanding Customer Service and a Highly Commended in the category of Sustainable Tourism.
This success followed that of being the only tourism business at the awards to have two nominations.
The Ullswater ‘Steamers’ team were delighted to see employee David Hall win the customer service accolade, in recognition of his outstanding commitment to his job and the delivery of top class service to passengers. Working across many different roles and responsibilities, David brings a consistently positive attitude to work every day and excels in handling the needs of passengers of all ages, interacting with them in a friendly, effective and memorable manner.
The Ullswater Steamers attendees were also thrilled to receive a Highly Commended in these top national tourism awards, particularly as this signalled a huge endorsement for their sustainable tourism policies and commitment to responsible tourism.
Marketing manager at Ullswater Steamers, Rachel Bell, says: “We put enormous amounts of effort into our customer service delivery and have invested heavily in sustainable technologies, so receiving recognition for our approach is extremely rewarding.
