Rhode Island entrepreneur launches unique eco-friendly packaging for specialty chocolates
Eco-friendlypackaging.com announces the launch of their newest sustainable packaging product line for the specialty chocolate market.
Providence, RI (May 24, 2012) --.Working with major chocolate manufacturers, Paul DeFruscio, a veteran of the packaging industry, identified a niche in the chocolate market for eco-friendly packaging and developed an sustainable packaging line specifically targeting the specialty chocolate market.
DeFruscio has partnered with companies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts to manufacture this new eco-friendly packaging product line. Imported hand-made papers made from sustainably harvested plant fibers, including cotton, bamboo, hemp, silk and sugarcane, are manufactured into chocolate bar-sized envelopes and folders, with a peel and stick adhesive closure for security. In addition to the envelope product line, eco-friendly sustainable boxes are currently under development and are scheduled to be launched in June, 2012.
“Our aim is to create a product that is good for the planet, and good for the local economy. Our end product is beautiful, high quality paper packaging that is of the highest ecological standard, all the while keeping an eye on customer’s price points. We utilize agricultural by-products that would otherwise be discarded, creating fair-trade jobs for disadvantaged rural workers in India and Bangladesh. And, by partnering with local manufacturers, we are also supporting the New England and U.S. manufacturing market,” said Paul DeFruscio, founder and CEO, Eco-Friendly Packaging.
