Beynon’s Polyurethane Formulations Continue to Stand the Test of Time

May 29, 2012 - PRLog -- In what is proving to be a regular occurrence at all levels of competition for all Beynon Sports state-of-the-art surfaces, records continue to fall. The 2012 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at McClimon Memorial Track joins a long list of Championships that have been contested on Beynon surfaces, and has added to the numerous records that have been set along the way.

“18 facility records, and nine (9) Big Ten Championship records were set during the weekend” said Ed Nuttycombe, Head Coach of Men’s Track and Field at University of Wisconsin.  “Several of our Big Ten coaching colleagues provided us with positive commentary on the quality of the track surface and credited it as a reason for the overall outstanding performances witnessed throughout this year’s Championship.”

Wisconsin’s very own Mohammed Ahmed eclipsed the Big Ten Championship record for the 5,000 meters by more than six (6) seconds and helped propel the men’s team to their first championship since 2007, along the way coach Nuttycombe was honored as the Big Ten’s coach of the year for the 21st time in his career, and the first time since 2008.

The records achieved at McClimon Memorial Track would be impressive for any newly installed surface, however the fact Beynon Sports’ personnel renovated McClimon Memorial track back in 1992 and Beynon Sports resurfaced the track in 2004 is a testament to the longevity and elite physical properties of Beynon’s polyurethane formulations.  Despite being close to two (2) decades old, the surface at McClimon Memorial track has continued to surpass industry expectations and will for many years to come.  When asked what makes a Beynon track outperform industry standards, John Beynon’s response was as simple as it was profound:
