Sign-Ups for Miller YMCA July 4th Car Show Underway

PRLog (Press Release) - May 29, 2012 - NEWBURY PARK, CALIF.--Car buffs can show off their classic automobiles at the second annual Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park's Independence Day Classic Car Show. The car show is part of the Y's Independence Day Family Festival on Wednesday, July 4 that includes a 5k and 10k run and walk, kids play area, parade, live entertainment and food. The festival and car show take place at the Y (The Village at Dos Vientos Ranch, 320 Via Las Brisas, Newbury Park).

   Car awards include '50s, '60s and '70s top picks, best interior, best paint, best engine and overall best in show. The car show entry fee is $20 (until June 29) and $30 afterwards. Car owners can enter additional cars for $10 each. All cars must be in place no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of the show.

   "Last year was our first year and over 60 cars were entered," says Katie Beck, executive director at the Miller Y. "We are hoping for 100 cars this year."

   The Y is also seeking sponsors for the festival. "Since entry to the festival is free to the community, we're looking for businesses and individuals to sponsor the event to help offset costs," says Beck.
