May 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Andrea Kimberlin, Miss Kentucky United States 2012, supported the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in their Great Strides Walk on May 19, 2012 in Louisville, KY.

Great Strides: Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event. Over $38 million dollars was raised in 2011 by the Great Strides walks nationwide to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

Kimberlin stated, "My mother has Cystic Fibrosis and I am a carrier of the genetic defect.  This means I may be unable to have children if it means I will pass on the defective gene."

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is non-profit, donor-supported  leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis and is a leader in funding research for cystic fibrosis cures.

Continued Kimberlin, "My mom is everything in the world to me, it is because of her that I am still alive after years of un-diagnosed ADHD and many other issues.   She means so much to me and I don’t want to lose her. "
