Kensington Mint issues unique Diamond Jubilee £1 banknote

May 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Kensington Mint , a privately owned company based in London announced today the issue of its UNIQUE COMMEMORATIVE £1 banknote to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The note depicts full colour images of the Queen over her lifetime, including a stunning Coronation picture on the reverse side.

The note although not legal tender looks and feels just like a real banknote and is sure to be a much sought after piece of Jubilee Memorabilia due to its uniqueness and collectability value.

50,000 of the notes will be issued with initial supplies going into circulation from today,
and are available from various outlets online such as ebay , amazon or direct from the mint itself.

A Kensington Mint spokesman commented "We wanted to do something different other than produce a Jubilee coin like every other mint tends to do and with so many people commenting on how much they missed the cherished paper pound note of old made me think why not produce an authentic style Jubilee pound to celebrate this remarkable achievement"

The launch marks the first £1 commemorative note to be issued by the Kensington Mint and it hopes that its success will lead to future production of various notes to mark other major british achievements and events.
