The John Palmer Art Gallery & Studio hosts League of Women Voters 2012 Rising Stars Launch Party

PRLog (Press Release) - May 27, 2012 - On Monday, May 21, 2012, the John Palmer Art Gallery & Studio hosted the 2012 Rising Stars Launch Party for the League of Women Voters of Houston.  Attended by prominent members such as Claudia Ortega Hogue, Executive Director of the National Association of Latino Elected Officials, Laura Spanjian, Director-Mayor's Office of Sustainability and Courtenay Siegfried, Vice President-20K Group, this amazing program recognizes young men and women between 25 and 40 years of age who have demonstrated leadership and have made positive contributions to the Houston community.

"The League of Women Voters of the Houston Area understands that positive accomplishments in business, education, science and technology, the arts, civic and non-profit areas are vital to the growth and health of the community as a whole, " says Christina Canales Gorczynski, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters Houston division.  "The League is committed to supporting and cultivating emerging leaders."

Gallery owner Artist John Ross Palmer was honored to host the fun-filled evening, stating, "My business is also dedicated to civic responsibility by giving back to artists and teaching them how to succeed and be self-sufficient.  It was amazing and meaningful to partner with the League because of our shared interest in improving the Houston community."
