Texmaco Rail secures order for 255 wagons worth Rs 117.03 crore from Bangladesh Railways

PRLog (Press Release) - May 27, 2012 - Texmaco Rail and Engineering has secured an order for 255 wagons valued at Rs 117.03 crore from Bangladesh Railways, according to a BL report. AK Vijay, CFO of Texmaco Rail, told the daily that the delivery of the wagons had to be completed by the end the current financial year.

What is more, the company has also obtained order for 70 wagons for Rs 12.43 crore from Africa. The current order book position stands at Rs 1,528 crore. For 2011-12, the company received orders for 4,670 wagons from Indian Railways. During the financial year the total orders, including private orders, for Texmaco was for 5,837 wagons. Texmaco said that the proposed manufacturing unit for EMU and metro coaches was currently under construction at its Sodepur unit in West Bengal. Its 50:50 joint venture unit, with UGL Rail of Australia, for production of locomotives and freight cars, is expected to be commissioned in October. These products would mainly be for exports.
