PRLog (Press Release)
- May 27, 2012 -
For years now, college students have been subjected to test taking in order to assess whether their skill levels on the math placement test, writing placement test, reading placement test meet prerequisite scores for placement into certain college classes. The problem is that most college students enter test taking of the placement test with skills that are "rusty" and need to be refreshened, except most colleges lack a program that sufficiently links with the Compass college placement exam or other standardized placement tests given. Because of this, students often leave test taking feeling soured and discouraged.
REFRESH Skills Refreshers, a division of World Class Educational Services (refreshskills.com)
, has recently developed streamlined college placement test preps that are aligned with the Compass and other common placement tests offered by most all colleges and universities across the nation. "These educational tools gives placement test takers an edge when they walk into test taking, because their skills are fresh and so is their confidence,"
states Dezra L. Guthrie, a former college writing instructor and CEO and innovator of the REFRESH educational product line.
"Having fresh skills makes a huge difference when it comes to scoring your best on placement tests like the Compass placement tests. These are rigorous tests for most students, and many entering college have been out of school for several years. How confident can you feel when you have forgotten core terminology, basic formulas or structures?" adds Guthrie.
Although placement test taking for college and university study has been something that has been dreaded by would-be students for years, REFRESH Skills Refreshers (refreshskills.com)
is hoping to change that so that students would rather submit to test taking than give away their hopes for a college education.
