Of her recent performance at The Kennedy Center, the D. C. Performing Arts Examiner noted, "Soprano Othalie Graham evoked a state of profound contemplation over the audience with the elegaic 'Liebestod' from Tristan und Isolde[...]Graham was able to fully connect to the music in the context of the opera, with conductor Julian Wachner and the orchestra magically creating the scene. Ending with her eyes transfixed into the vastness of the hall, the transcendental moment was accorded with ecstatic applause."
Later this fall, Ms. Graham will make her widely anticipated debut with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with guest conductor, Maestro Murray Sidlin on October 11, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Conceived by Sidlin, the "Defiant Requiem" is a performance of Verdi's beloved work that serves as an homage to the performances that were given in Terezin concentration camp. The performance will be a multi-media presentation with testimonies from surviving members of the choir. Joining Graham will be her esteemed colleagues, mezzo-soprano Susana Poretsky, tenor Mark Panuccio and bass Alfred Walker.
