By: Abask Marketing The NFTE South Florida program has impacted over 16,000 students since 2006, offering high school students the opportunity to learn business acumen and receive mentorship from local business owners. Currently available in 19 lower income schools in Miami-Dade and 2 in Broward County, this event promises to build more of a presence in Broward in order to offer opportunities to more students. “This program has changed the lives of many teenagers in Miami-Dade that may not ordinarily recognize their full potential by learning how they could successfully start their own business,” said event sponsor Vince Virga. “In order to reach more students in Broward we need willing participants and volunteers at schools and in the community. We are also looking for a program manager to oversee the NFTE programs in Broward.” The cocktail reception and networking event is expected to bring together leaders in the community that have an interest in supporting the growth of educational programs in Broward County. Registration is open to the public and available through the NFTE website, with the ride and drive event only available through special registration; About NFTE The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship's mission is to provide programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, to recognize business opportunities and to plan for successful futures.
