Montclair Art Museum to Participate in Blue Star Museums

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) announces the launch of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 1,500 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2012. This is the third consecutive year of the program and MAM is especially proud to have participated since the beginning. “We’re very pleased to be part of this nationwide effort to honor members of the armed services and their families, “ said MAM Director Lora Urbanelli. “Our exhibitions this summer cover a range of American art, from modern and contemporary to the work of 19th-century landscape artist George Inness. Our New Media, New Forms exhibition, which showcases the work of 13 New Jersey–based artists who engage with digital media, remains on view through July 22 and includes a video installed on our two permanent outdoor monitors,—that should make for great summer viewing.”
