Save-A-Pet Salutes Veterans during Military Appreciation Weekend

Waives Adult Dog and Cat Adoption Fees for those who have Served in the Military

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- (Port Jefferson Station, NY) — In celebration of the Memorial Day weekend and Military Appreciation Weekend, Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, Inc. will waive adult dog and cat adoption fees for anyone who has served in the United States Military. This will take place May 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 27 from noon to 4 p.m.

To be applicable, active soldiers or veterans must bring in any type of military identification. All normal adoption procedures apply and applicants will be asked to complete an adoption form.

“We are happy to be able to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans and encourage them to save the life of one of our wonderful animals,” said Dori Scofield, President, Save-A-Pet. “At Save-A-Pet, we believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all, including our orphaned pets.”

Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue Inc. was established in 1994 and is located in Port Jefferson Station.  Save-A-Pet works with The Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter to place homeless animals into new homes with loving families. All of the animals that come to Save-A-Pet are spayed, neutered, tested for diseases and vaccinated.  Prospective adopters are thoroughly screened and matched with the most suitable pet for them and their family.  Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill shelter and is a safe haven for all of the animals that enter it.
