May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Jonathon Gomez, driver of the #22 Century Boatland/LivingGomez in K&N Car Like a Pirate Chevrolet in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, will visit Brainerd (MN) International Raceway's 2.5-mile road course for the first time this weekend.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series, in its 59th year, makes its inaugural visit to Minnesota in the running of the Brainerd "125" for the second of four road course events slated for the popular NASCAR development series.

With this being a new event on the schedule, the only time Gomez has seen the facility is when he looked it up on Google.

Gomez is coming off a 13th place performance overall in the East/West combination event at Iowa Speedway last weekend, but more importantly for the Gomez Motorsports team, is that he scored a third place finish among his West series rivals to close the gap in the point standings.

"We are starting to gain some momentum and climbing back into the points after a tough start to the season," Gomez said. "We have a same car we ran at Miller and every time we race on a road course we get better. With this being a new event we are all really starting from the same place. I know we will have a good run at Brainerd."

Gomez has made 32 career starts in the NKNPS after making his series debut at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, OR on July 11, 2008. In his 32 career starts he has six top five and 14 top ten performances. He has a career best finish of second place twice (Iowa & Phoenix). His best road course performance in five previous starts was fourth at Miller in 2011.

Gomez Motorsports is owned by John Gomez, a successful farmer and businessman based in Idaho. The team is lead by crew chief Craig Raudman and supported by Ron Copeland, Blaine Bergem, Derek Copeland, Kyle Cattanach, Adam Wyse, and Mike Mulder.
