GMH Blood Drive Set for June 1

Georgetown Memorial Hospital is holding a blood drive for the public from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. June 1 to meet heightened summer demand.

May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- As the saying goes, it takes all types, and in no situation is that more apropos than for blood donations. Every minute of every day, someone needs blood, and that need increases during summer.

To meet the heightened demand for blood donations during summer, Georgetown Memorial Hospital is holding a blood drive Friday, June 1.

Members of the public are encouraged to donate blood from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the private dining room on the first floor at GMH.

Appointments can be made by calling 843.527.7173 or going to http://www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also welcome.

In addition to having a valid ID, blood donors must be healthy, be at least 17 years old and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds.

Blood donors will get a free jar opener and a water bottle while the supply lasts.
