PRLog -- Catalano stated: “I am really excited to be working with Michael Sande again. We worked on the comedy 'The Little Dog Laughed' and he is extremely talented and has an excellent eye in putting up a show. We're looking for a theatre in either Hollywood or No Ho for the World Premiere. The casting process for this world premiere play has just begun. We are looking for just the right actors to create the spirit of the play.” The Resting Place is part of a three play collection with Autumn Sweet and Nightfall called the Long Island Trilogy. All three works are set Long Island, New York. The Resting Place was published as a book in 2011. A recent review of the book version of THE RESTING PLACE describes its story: Joseph Fanelli, a Beverly Hills real estate broker, is going through a mid-life crisis when he's summoned to return to his native Long Island to look after his ailing mother, from whom he's been estranged for 13 years. It is a journey that not only takes him from coast to coast, but back in time, as he attempts to reconcile with his mother, re-think his life, unearths troubling truths about his family while forging new and unexpected relationships. Fast paced and nimbly staged with a cast playing multiple characters, playwright Frank Catalano, who demonstrates an unerring ear for sharp dialogue, has crafted a clever story that initially comes across as brash comedy, but it is comedy with bite, wit and ultimately, compassion, worthy of vintage Woody Allen. Catalano went on to say: “This play is as much a journey of self discovery as it is a hilarious comedy. This is going to make it a particular challenge to find just the right actors who can find the truth in the characters and make it work. We are especially looking for the two leading roles of Joseph and Faith. They really have to connect. They are JOSEPH FANELLI (late 30's - 40s) An intensely driven, New York Italian American man living on the edge and FAITH FANELLI – (Joseph Fanelli’s mother-late fifties - 60s) Like a rose, beautiful and thorned all at the same time." A full breakdown for all of the characters can be found on Nowcasting and Breakdown Express.
Art of the Monologue, The Creative Audience, White Knight Black Night, authored by Catalano, have been called a “great studies for would be actors or comedians of any type” by Midwest Book Review. His latest book Rand Unwrapped – Confessions of a Robotech Warrior has been called “A humorous and touching account of the Rand character and the making of the landmark animated series Robotech.”
