Emily Cressey, Amazon.com bestselling author of “Online Business Marketing: Proven Strategies You Can Implement Yourself To Market Your Business On The Internet” and owner of the Lynnwood-based marketing firm, The River Rock Group (http://RiverRockGroup.com), will be this month’s speaker and - in response to requests from last month’s attendees - will address the topic of How To Get More Business Leads By Dominating Google Places.
According to Cressey, “Business owners see their clients turning to the Internet, and search engines like Google, to initiate product research, or look for new service providers. Just as having a strong Yellow Pages presence was important in the past, now it’s critical to have a strong presence online. Now instead of ‘letting our fingers do the walking,’ we ‘Google It.’” According to PowerReviews.com 50% of consumers spend 75% or more of their total shopping time conducting online research.
The first event, on May 10th, featured WSI owner, Melinda Davies, who spoke to a sell-out crowd about the importance of having a multi-platform online presence that extends beyond a business website, to social media platforms like Yelp, CitySearch, Facebook, and Google Places.
The goal of the series, according to Cressey, is to “give business owners the tools to communicate directly with their clients, just like industry leaders.” In fact, the ballyhooed launch of Dick’s Drive-In at its new location Highway 99 in Edmonds, was made possible in part by the support and encouragement of fans who gathered on Facebook and voted online for the burger chain’s new location.
The Lynnwood Chamber, which is hosting this event at Fairwinds Brighton Court in Lynnwood, is headed by former Lynnwood Councilman Jim Smith, of Atlas Mortgage. Smith’
