Hanwha SolarOne USA Announces New Leadership

May 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Santa Clara, Calif., May 24, 2012 — Hanwha SolarOne Co. Ltd. (Hanwha SolarOne), a top-10 global photovoltaic manufacturer of low-cost, high-quality solar photovoltaic modules, has appointed Mark A. Bronez president of Hanwha SolarOne USA Inc.  Bronez will oversee general management of Hanwha SolarOne in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

The selection of Bronez to lead North American operations continues Hanwha SolarOne’s rapid expansion into the market.  The company, together with its parent company – Hanwha Group, has invested more than $50 million in the U.S. in the previous two years, including opening an advanced R&D center in Santa Clara, Calif., and strategic investments in companies such as Solar Monkey, tenKsolar, Crystal Solar, OneRoof Energy and 1366 Technologies.

Prior to joining Hanwha SolarOne USA, Bronez worked for five years at SunPower Corporation, where he most recently served as Vice President and General Manager for the North America Commercial Business Unit.  His previous experience includes more than a decade of leadership roles at a number of solar and technology companies including solar pioneer PowerLight Corporation, Harris Corporation, and Bradford Company.

Bronez holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering science and mechanics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, a master’s degree in bioengineering from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in leadership in sustainable development from the New College of California.
