Follow on Google News | Avery Law Firm Announces T.C. Williams HS as Winner of No Texting While Driving Pledge ContestThe Avery Law Firm announced that T. C. Williams High School won the firm-sponsored contest encouraging students to refrain from texting while driving. The school has earned $2,000 for having the highest percentage of its students make the pledge.
Over 400 students made the promise, a commitment to which Michael Avery, Esq. hopes the students will adhere. “In my practice, we see all too often what can happen when drivers are distracted by cell phones and other devices. If we can prevent even one tragedy from occurring, it will have been well worth it.” The contest is the latest in a campaign the firm has sponsored in support of this effort. In November, 2011, Meghan Okonsky (also of T.C. Williams High) won $2,500 (and $1,000 for her school) for submitting the winning entry for a logo and design underscoring this important message. That work will be disseminated throughout the area in the form of car magnets. The firm does not intend to stop there. According to Avery, “a new and different twist on last year’s logo contest will be announced soon. I think people are going to have a lot of fun with this and hopefully, it will make even more of an impact.” The Avery Law Firm focuses its practice on personal injury cases, with a special emphasis on accidents involving motor vehicles. Mr. Avery is a former infantry officer and Marine captain who has over 20 years experience handling accident cases. For more information, contact Jean Arlene at 856-810-0400. End
