Teresa Wolf of Soul Discovery on Horseback Furthers Horse Retreat Training

May 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Teresa Wolf, Owner/Founder of Soul Discovery on Horseback, attended a retreat as a participant in Minnesota May 4-6 to learn more about techniques she can offer in her own horse retreat business.   Soul Discovery on Horseback is a custom retreat  business offering retreats to women, couples, business and families utilizing horses as part of her retreat team.  Basically, it's life and business coaching on horseback!

The leader of the retreat, Melisa Pearce, has her own acclaimed "Touched by a Horse" business located out of Boulder, CO.  Melisa is a lifelong horsewoman and entrepreneur. She was chosen one of the Top 50 Most Influential Horsewomen by Horse South Magazine in 2008 and she has won two World Championship American Paint Horse  Association awards. She has bred over 150 foals, owned and managed multiple ranches while developing her expertise as a trained psychotherapist. Through her therapy work with clients on her ranches, Melisa discovered her clients became more grounded and secure when working with horses. This inspired her to expose a wide range of people to the beauty and wonder of horses through experiential workshops and retreats that integrate horse interaction with positive guidance on examining how people have chosen to create their past and how to create their future.

Through her groundbreaking twenty-plus years of working horses and humans together in a therapeutic way, Melisa found that horses teach people much from being in the present moment. This led Melisa to develop her Equine Gestalt Coaching Method™ that she shares through her Certification Program, training others in the same effective method. Her passion is teaching others how to facilitate the work, involving the emotional healing and exploration of self, through interaction with horses.

Because horses become frustrated when given mixed signals, she finds that when the horse expert to the horse novice experiences her work, the exercises and methods she uses gives the person increased clarity and focus and shows them how to get better results with horses. Melisa shows that shifting a person's approach has immediate payoffs with both horses and human interactions. She further demonstrates that a person who is willing to refine their focus, to establish a plan for reaching their goals and exhibit more determination will ultimately experience more success in achieving their goals in all areas of their life.

The retreat was held in a beautiful horse facility, Spirit Horse Center in Brainerd, MN.  This 3 day event was in the indoor arena using horses especially chosen by Melisa for the type of work she was to be doing.  These horses had never been used for this type of work previously.  Through her many years of experience, she is able to choose horses that are most fitting for the work to be done.

During the retreat, attendees participated in various activities with the horses acting as the intuitive communicator, showing if that person is being authentic or not.  While it seems to be a mystifying event, horses are just being horses as they have been for millions of years.  It's the humans who have changed.  Some humans are so accustomed to hiding their true feelings, they don't even know how to be authentic.  Horses can help change that.  

Teresa Wolf completed a comprehensive training program that has awarded her the title of Certified Retreat Coach. Teresa's training as a Retreat Coach included a comprehensive learning experience with both distance learning and attending a hands-on  training in Colorado. This led to her inspired development of a very special brand of retreat offerings.  She is the founder of the retreat series called "Soul Discovery" which includes "Soul Discovery on Horseback for Women,"  "Soul Discovery for Families," and "Soul Discovery for Couples."
