A mini cruise allows you to experience a cruise holiday but for a lesser amount of time than a normal two week cruise.
North-West based travel agent Cruise118 has seen a 33 per cent increase in new customers booking a mini cruise holiday.
Director of Cruise118 James Cole said: “Many first time cruise customers have booked for a mini cruise simply because it gives them a taster of what cruising is all about. These cruises tend to be from 3-5 nights and most sail directly from the UK to Europe making them a hassle-free choice for everyone.”
Research shows that it’s not only first time cruisers that are booking a mini cruise either as many Brits just want to get away from the UK for a few days.
Avid mini cruiser fan Jed Thomas, 62 from Lancaster said: “With the news of the budget just in and practically everything rising, people are desperate to get away from the gloom and doom of Britain and a quick escape is the perfect way to do just that. I have literally just booked for a three day cruise away and let me tell you I cannot wait.”
Cole added: “It’s not just about first time cruisers either. Although a great way to see if cruising is for you, a mini cruise is also ideal for a quick getaway. A lot of mini cruises tend entail city breaks such as Paris, Amsterdam or Bruges, which are usually places people would go to for just a few days anyway, but this gives you all the fun of a cruise journey thrown in as well”
“We have sold a substantial amount of mini cruises in the past year, which has significantly helped in the continual growth of our company.”
