Express Your Anger For Better Health Says Doctor

Bottled up anger can be the cause of illness. Instead of ‘managing’ your anger, it has to be ‘burnt out’ or ‘reduced’ for natural healing.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - May 23, 2012 - Expressing bottled up anger can help prevent illnesses. This is the observation of a Dublin doctor, Pradeep Chadha, a practicing psychiatrist and psychotherapist. He says that he has seen many people reduce the symptoms of their physical and mental illnesses when they express their anger and hostility in a controlled way.
He confesses that he himself was an angry man when he was in his 20s. No amount of management or discussion could change his way of thinking or behaviour. He learnt that expressing anger could also be destructive. He then developed simple methods to release his anger. He now teaches them to his clients.
‘The concept of ‘anger management’ is flawed. To say that one will ‘manage’ anger is to make anger acceptable and legitimate’, wrote Dr. Stanton E. Samenow, PhD, in his book Inside the Criminal Mind. ‘The objective should be elimination of anger not ‘management’, he wrote in Psychology Today.
‘Expressing your anger for good health is easier than you think’, says Dr Chadha, who has been teaching his methods for last 16 years. These methods include simple breathing and imagery exercises. They can change thinking and behaviour without much effort.
According to the book Mind Body Health, bottled up anger can lead to heart conditions, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, hives, acne, psoriasis, peptic ulcers, epilepsy, migraines, Raynaud’s disease and high blood pressure.
Dr. Chadha is currently running a seven session programme on anger reduction for individuals. The cost of the programme is €600.
About Dr Pradeep K Chadha:  Dr Chadha is the author of two published books - The Stress Barrier and The Road To a Happy Life. He has training and experience in psychiatry, hypnotherapy & coaching. He combines the Eastern and Western philosophies in his treatment. He helps the whole person rather than the symptoms.
