Pocino Foods Funds Product Innovation Kitchen at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo

May 23, 2012 - PRLog -- City of Industry, Calif. – May 22, 2012 – Pocino Foods, the industry leader in quality and innovation of deli and prepared meat products, has announced their funding of the “Pocino Foods Company Product Innovation Kitchen” at Cal Poly University at San Luis Obispo CA.  

“The Product Innovation Kitchen will be used to develop new and safer products for the industry.  Students tackle real world problems that are identified by the industry and the university,” said Dr. Andy Thulin, head of the Animal Science Department at Cal Poly.  “We are pleased to have Pocino Foods support us developing our center which has been in planning for over 10 years.”  

The center will process all types of meat, is USDA inspected and HACCP approved.

The processing center is the newest federally inspected USDA plant at a University and the   only one that is 90% funded by industry and private donors.
