PRLog (Press Release) -
May 22, 2012 - Janet’s Camp, the brainchild of Janet Elway, is a benefit for summer day camp programs run by the Denver Y. “I believe it benefits the community and every child in that community to be able to spend time swimming, playing, growing and just enjoying the outdoors each summer,” said Elway. “These scholarship funds have allowed over 1500 children to go to Y camps throughout the metro area.” Janet’s Camp has raised approximately $820,000 in scholarship monies over the past six years.
Janet’s Camp is a camp for adults only! However, no camp experience would be complete without games, campfires (and the accompanying ghost stories) dinner and the added adult attraction of silent and live auctions.
The YMCA of Metro Denver was established in 1875. One area of focus for us is youth development;
there is no better way to accomplish this than through summer day camp. Summer day camp allows children to create memories that will last a lifetime, while keeping them safe while their parents work.
Among the programs that the YMCA provides to the Denver community are aquatics, summer camps, childcare, health and fitness programs for children, adults and seniors and a wide range of youth sports.
