Hyatt Santa Barbara Celebrates Completed Renovations Just In Time For Summer

A community and visitor’s destination for generations, Hyatt Santa Barbara has been undergoing extensive renovations to all guest rooms, meeting rooms and public spaces since February 2011.

Formerly Hotel Mar Monte, Hyatt Santa Barbara’s $12 million renovation and restoration preserved the hotel’s 80-year history, while simultaneously modernizing its features. Nearly every facet of the hotel received a facelift. Guestrooms were completely updated with a contemporary beach-inspired aesthetic. Carpets and window treatments were replaced, as well as furnishings and linens. Additionally, public spaces like the lobby and pool and deck area were refurbished and include new landscaping and décor. All function spaces were revived with new lighting, paint, carpet and window coverings. The on-property spa received a new name, Oleastro Spa, meaning “wild olive tree.” The hotel’s restaurant, Bistro 1111, received new décor and lounge seating. And, the fitness center was replaced with a Hyatt Stay Fit Gym boasting upgraded equipment and amenities. As a whole, the property was refurbished with a fusion of Spanish Colonial architecture, casual elegance and modern conveniences.
