May 22, 2012 - PRLog -- May 22, 2012, NAPERVILLE, Ill. – As the economy begins to recover, so does the prospect of more and more employees seeking new jobs with better opportunities. Keeping the most valuable employees engaged and satisfied should be an increasingly important strategy for chief executives, according to a new research summary produced by the business thought leadership organization, The Forum: Business Results Through People.

The report, “Employee Lifetime Value: Measuring the Long-Term Financial Contribution of Employees,” is the second in a new series of targeted and concise research packages designed for C-suite executives. Its author, Forum Academic Director Dr. Frank Mulhern of Northwestern University, discusses the concept of employee lifetime value as a valuable tool to identify the various activities employees are engaged in, which are not usually identified as revenue producing and not easily measured, but add much value to an organization.

“Employee lifetime value creates a model to measure the long-term contribution an employee makes within an organization,” says Dr. Mulhern. “Too often products, brands and customers are defined as a source of revenue and employees are defined as a cost.” The research summary offers several ideas for chief executives interested in applying Dr. Mulhern’s research to their companies, including strategic questions senior leadership should be asking about their workforce.
