TWO QUARLES & BRADY ATTORNEYS INVOLVED WITH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL ON LEGAL DIVERSITY FELLOWS PROGRAM

PHOENIX, ARIZ. — The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Edward A. Salanga, an attorney in the Firm's Phoenix office, completed the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity ("LCLD") Fellows program. Steven V. Hunter, an attorney in the Firm's Chicago office, is one of 134 attorneys selected to join the next class of Fellows graduates.

Salanga practices in the areas of construction and real estate litigation, commercial litigation, product liability and direct sales, representing clients in state and federal court, arbitrations, mediations and administrative proceedings.  He serves as co-chair of the Real Estate Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation and was named a top pro bono attorney by the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education.  Salanga earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Arizona State University and his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.

Hunter is a trial lawyer with first-chair experience representing corporations and lending institutions in commercial, banking, real estate and construction litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country.  He holds an ACEDS e-discovery "specialist" certification and has significant experience assisting clients in managing high-volume ESI production and computer forensic analysis.  He has been named a "Rising Star" in the area of Business Litigation by Illinois Super Lawyers, an "Exceptional Young Lawyer" by the Chicago Bar Association, one of the "Nation's Best Advocates" by the National Bar Association, and one of the “40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 To Watch,” by Chicago Lawyer magazine and The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. He authors a monthly column on e-discovery for Inside Counsel Magazine and co-chairs the Chinatown Legal Clinic (among many other civic endeavors).  Hunter earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his undergraduate degree from Brown University (Economics/Political Science).

Formed in 2009, the LCLD is made up of the general counsels of the nation’s pre-eminent corporations and the managing partners of the nation’s leading law firms. The Fellows Program is one of several LCLD initiatives, including programs to address “pipeline” issues that face the profession, encouraging minorities and women to enter the law and supplying programs to increase their likelihood of success in law school. LCLD has introduced “diversity secondments” which allow talented, diverse attorneys in law firms to work in corporate legal environments, broadening their professional relationships.
